WALT Be Creative

This term we have learnt about photograph and photo essays.

We have learnt about the rule of thirds - which is a grid, angle, line and colour.

Sport Start

For Sport Start we are learning some gymnastics moves. The most challenging move is the pike because it stretches your legs.

My favourite is the Battement where you kick your legs up high.

Lukas Grows Down

We made this movie after reading the book called Otto Grows Down.

I played Lukas as a 1year old.

My favourite part was when the class goes down the slide. The video goes backwards so it looks like we are flying up the slide.

Seed2Table

During Seed2Table we learnt about the parts of plants.

  1. Roots
  2. Stems
  3. Leaves
  4. Flowers
  5. Fruit
  6. Seeds

We have made lots of yummy food. My favourite food was Spanakopita Pie. I ate 5 slices!

I have also planted a potato to see how many we can grow by Christmas.

Maths Day

Today for maths we did lots of activities comparing volume and mass.

My favourite activity was the tinfoil boats.  We had to make a boat out of one sheet of tin foil. I had a turn and then I helped Riley. His boat could hold up to 650g!

Blake's boat could hold 950g! The boats with a large flat surface could hold more than boats with a smaller surface area.

Maths - Volume

We have been learning to compare volumes of containers. We can do this by pouring rice from one container to the next. If rice is left over then we know that container is bigger than the one we are pouring into.
